Dog Training By Example
Both dogs and people learn through imitation. Beginning dog trainers learn by observing experienced dog trainers. Dogs, amongst other dogs, learn by model as well. Yes, I train people! Teaching you to behave in ways that will appropriately influence your dog's mood, manners, and cooperation has been the secret to my dog training success for the past 30+ years.
I teach pet owners to model behavior in ways dogs understand and reflect back in willing response and social imitation. These methods are based upon the mirror neurons within the brain which allow empathic learning – without punishment, cruelty, or harsh equipment.
I began training dogs when I was just 15 years old and have been helping pets and their people ever since.
My dog (and people!) training programs help pet owners teach their dogs to willingly cooperate, demonstrate great self control and manners, and socially interact with kindness and confidence. About Our Facilities:
Our classes are taught at our humble, home-based training facility in Lemont, Illinois. We have a climate controlled indoor training room as well as a safely fenced half-acre outdoor training area for practicing off-lead training and allowing socialization. We also train off site, at the Bolingbrook Park District's Annerino Center, at local strip malls, and at the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve.
