Learning By Example:
Some of the most helpful guidance you will receive as a new Dog Improvement student will come from people who started out just like you. Peggy Moran's advanced students and their exemplary dogs are great role models for both human handlers and their canine companions.
Be sure to get to know these special people and their pets in person at drop-in dog training or Sunday morning field trips. Each human student is a willing source of experience-based advice, and each advanced dog once struggled with behavioral problems or obedience training challenges similar to those your dog may be facing now.
In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at some of the Dog Improvement Honor Roll:
Sky, a "Golden Achiever" and his people, Barb and Ken
According to Barb:
"Sky is our fourth Golden Retriever. When Sky became our puppy, we visualized him as our family companion in our retirement years. Sky was a very dominate puppy from the very beginning. Ken and I struggled with him to the point of almost giving him back to our breeder. We called Peggy and asked for her help and we enrolled in her training program. With her program and guidance, we gained the skills and knowledge we needed to become the leaders we needed to be for Sky. Learning to build trust between Sky and ourselves, making a real connection between him and us, and being true to Peggy's training methods resulted in Sky becoming a dog that is loving and obedient; he is a family companion who loves to perform and work for and with us and a friend to our granddaughter."
