My training methods reinforce desirable actions, rather than focusing upon their antithetical opposites. We use no personal punishment, scolding, shaming, jerking, "alpha-rolling," cruel training equipment, or bullying. Each dog's training is entirely customized, whether the training is one-on-one or done in a group setting. My dog training system allows dogs to benefit most through willing cooperation with human family members.

We respect dogs as intelligent creatures deserving of consideration and the right to learn naturally, through a series of guided experiments and their behavior-shaping results. Dogs are not manipulated, dominated, suppressed, or brainwashed into rote obedience. Instead they are allowed to relax and learn naturally, through a series of safe investigations where we human handlers gently tip the scales with well-timed rewards so that the behaviors we like best become the ones our dogs also choose as their preferred courses of action.

This may sound complicated, but it quickly feels natural and "right." Natural dog training establishes a two-way communication which begins with a clear and comprehensive understanding of canine communication. Despite the popularity of "dog whisperer" training methods, it is important to keep in mind most natural communication is silent and based upon movement; a dog's language is primarily body language! Learning how to use your own movements as mimetic models which in turn trigger mirroring responses from your pet dog is an eye-opening experience! Changing a mind is not a mechanical process; it is a dynamic, thoughtful endeavor that requires insight and ethical consideration.

In order to realize optimal dog training outcomes, I also train people. I share my views of family members' needs for behavioral modification as it relates to their dogs with honesty and consideration. I encourage my human students to relax and allow themselves the same consideration learning new ideas and actions as they afford their dogs. You cannot fail at this system of training! I can help you learn what part you play in your dog's behavior and teach you how to change some of your own actions in order to easily motivate improved, mirroring, responses from your dog.

My human students are interested, intelligent, and enthusiastic. They enjoy learning to understand their dogs' behaviors and communication. Through my training they learn to connect with their pet dogs without crossed fingers, bribery, or punishment.
